Dr. Abdel Benayad received the B.S. and M.S degrees in Materials Science from Ibn Zohr University, Agadir, Morocco in 2000. He worked in this university for two years (2000-2002), in the Laboratory of Instrumentation and Measurements, on the Atomic Scale Simulation (ASS) of the diffusion and agglomeration of point defects under high energy electron irradiation. He received his Ph.D. degree in Materials Sciences at the Laboratoire de Génie Electrique et Ferroélectricité of INSA de Lyon, France in 2005. His research was about single crystals with high piezoelectric activities : synthesis, characterization and application. He is currently Chemical Engineer at the CIMAP Laboratory in the group MIL “Matériaux et Instrumentation laser”. His main field of interest and expertise is in the synthesis and the crystal growth of fluorides materials by using different techniques : Bridgman and Czochralski techniques for bulk crystals and LPE (Liquid Phase Epitaxy) for thin films.
