Viven Ménard is currently a Technician at the CIMAP Laboratory in the group MIL “Matériaux et Instrumentation laser”. His main field of interest and expertise is in the preparation (orientation, cutting and polishing) of the samples (bulk crystals and thin films) for the spectroscopic and laser applications. He is regularly participating as an expert, within the framework of the MRCT-CNRS research network ROP (Réseau Optique et Photonique http://www.rop.cnrs.fr/), to the training of other technicians of the French research institutions to the delicate polishing of the crystals for various kinds of applications.
